The trees were spaced at relatively even intervals, letting the light shine through as green streaks every few feet. Vines curved their way up the tree trunks, adding more green to the already overwhelming color. Foliage covered the ground, green mostly with a scattering of flowers; blue, pink, orange, red, purple, and yellow. A large rock sat in the middle of a small clearing, where the sunlight shone freely through the gap in leaves overhead. It was here that a girl sat; she had blonde hair, down except for two small pigtails on the sides. Her dark eyes were hiding behind their lids, and her slim body was sprawled across the rock, soaing up what sun she could while in the relative heat of the trees.
Alice lay quietly with Kallen, thinking of little or nothing. She was waiting. Kallen was munching quietly on a fish, only occasionally looking up to see what she was doing. He grew bored with doing nothing, and she did, too. That was why she wished something would happen soon.
She wasn't entirely sure what she expected to happen, though; just... something. She had nothing to do, so she hoped that someone or something would give her a cure for such boredom as hers. However, she was growing to think that nothing would ever happen.
"Well, we'll just have to make our own adventure then, won't we Kallen?" Alice stood up, brushing off her clothes and turning to look at the Night Fury. He just stared at her with his green eyes, asking silently if he had to.
"Don't you start that, buddy. You're coming with me if that's the last thing I do."[/b]
Kallen rolled his eyes and got to his feet, shaking himself out. He walked to Alice and rubbed against her outstretched hand. The look he gave her obviously said, 'I suppose so if you insist, but be aware that I really don't care to do this.' Alice laughed. Kallen could be a little hard to understand at times; he didn't make his opinions known with the same type of body language as others may have. But Alice could always understand the dragon.
Alice grinned. "Then let's go!" She headed farther into the trees, forging a path. Fallen leaves and twigs snapped loudly underfoot, echoing off the trees around them. Kallen took off and flew overhead, his body a tad too bulky to fit easily through the trees.
And thus Alice and Kallen's adventure began.
