Due to the fact that her old dragon and herself couldn't get along, she changed into another night fury, much like Hiccups, but it is a female, and instead. Her name is Lilith, and she is seen to be exactly like Astrid herself, serious, strong, and determined to help Astrid and protect her with all that she can.
HISTORY:
Growing up in Berk, her parents were Vikings. As a child, Astrid never really got the parental type of love; most of her childhood was spend in her home while her parents were outside fighting dragons. From looking out the window in her eyes they were nothing but monsters, stealing food, hurting the villagers and destroying the village that she had grown up in. She grew up with the philosophy that her parents war would one day become hers, and so with that being said, she should always be the best, to fight and defend herself when the times comes and the people around her need help.
Then her father died in battle, much to her dismay; she was only 9 years old, but she come to realize that the truth in her parents words, and more then ever she worked hard to get stronger. Then she went to Dragon training with Snotlout, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, Fishlegs, and of course, Hiccup. There, she was the best in the group, proving them wrong time and time again, even when the others were in her way.
Until suddenly Hiccup started to get incredibly good, much to her chagrin he suddenly seemed better then her, getting the dragon into the cage before she could. Though most people considered him a prodigy of some sort, Astrid thought otherwise, and though she didn’t know what was going on, she knew that something was up. And even one time, curiosity would overcome her and she found herself following him (but she always lost him on the way to his destination).
That is, until one day she managed to caught him with his dragon, Toothless, where he introduced them. After a moment’s encounter, she scampered off to tell someone, but not before Toothless could get a hold of her with Hiccup asking her to let him explain. Reluctantly, she let him, and found a change in heart, but not before being taken to the dragon’s home and learning of what lies in the heart of their nest.
The next day Hiccup when Hiccup was destined to fight in his graduation battle, things got sticky and from there, Toothless was captured and everyone was off to find the nest, leaving Astrid with him. After a brief talk, he came up with a plan, including the others to ride a dragon out to the nest. After a rather intense fight between the big dragon and toothless, Hiccup and his dragon came out victorious, losing a leg in the process.
Astrid’s views has changed due to the events that happened, her perception on dragons are now the complete opposite of what they used to be, and Astrid is starting to face her interest with Hiccup. They are still training, and overall, her life is rather well.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
It seemed, that the more that he was away from her, holding on to the fact that she was crying, brought him down his usual game; stealing the life of some man he had found, the ruby colors dripped down his pale chin, as he disposed of the body, pushing it somewhere where it couldn't be found. He turned and licked his lips, turning to look at the only street lamp on the entire street. He was in a deserted alley.
Turning away, he looked east, where she was at the moment, no doubt she didn't get very far from where she had walked out on her, and though his heart didn't beat at all, a dark shadow consumed it, wrapping itself tighter around him, sinking its fangs into his heart and making it ache in such a dreaded way.
His eyes lowered to the ground, his fingers moving over his chest, lacing themselves with the fabric of his dark shirt absently as he began walking once more, in a pace too fast for the human eye to catch. It's honestly unbearable, it was like feeling unloved, lonely, and he didn't understand it at all. He couldn't make sense of why he felt such a pull, a desire to come to her and apologize for something that he did was just. Was it wrong of him to do what he believed in? Maybe he could have worded it differently, but what good would it make? Would it change the path he now had to walk on? It was dark, alone, and his hand tightened around his shirt as he winced, a pain that seemed to be inside of him, and he had no way of ridding it.
The smell of her scent was closer.
Can sins be forgiven?
The thought came back into his mind, and he looked at the ground, only a few hundred meters away from the park. Could it? He believed that he shouldn't say he was sorry, because it was the truth, but he wondered, would she rather have him lie and be happy, or face the truth- however cold it was- and know that it was what he intended to do. He would have had the truth, he didn't know about her, Each thought, connected to each other, with his future, her future, and their past so intricately, he only had to boil it down to one question that needed to be answered.
Can I love her, and let her in my life?
Logic, the years spent along, the bitterness that had appeared after so many years alone answered without a thought. Nein, of course not you asshole, what makes you think that someone like her deserved to be with you, deserved to be tied down to such a wild life? And yet, a smaller, almost nonexistent part said yes, only she could chose her path. The feeling was never there before, it was one of the aftermath of being around her cheery demeanor so long. He's losing his touch.
She's only a few feet away from where he stood, silent and sad.
Will you still love me, after all I've done to you? Wracked your body with pain that would last for days, possibly start a war with your brother's puppies, all for my happiness?
The answer was no. Still no. It made no difference, but maybe, he can keep playing this game, just for a little while longer. Maybe not for her benefit, but his. He wanted to feel...alive. To feel different other then the pain, the throbbing pressure as the years went by. She made him feel something that he thought he had lost long ago. Was it hope? Was it real love? Joy? Laughter? Whatever it was, he didn't want it to go away. He really didn't want to give up this moment, he didn't want to hurt her, if only she knew.
If only.
'Rachel....' he whispered, his voice to soft and wispy he swore that he could see it blow away with the wind. Promptly, he put his hands in his pockets and took a step forward, coming right behind her, one hand moving out to hold on to the back of the bench absently.
Where to begin?
'I love you, and I swear, maybe things shouldn't be, but as stupid as it sounds, I did it... because I love you. Because I spend my days worrying if you were going to be alright, I worry that if I ever showed my love for you, you can use it against me. You manipulate me in so many ways, it's not even funny; and yet I come back, through however scared I am that one day we have to part ways.
But alas, every time we meet, I forget about who I am, the monster at the end of the book. I see you, and only you, and though our entwined futures would brush by my mind logic seemed to have taken a vacation and I forget what to do. You leave me helpless, fighting a losing battle.
What do you want me to say? That I love you? That the moment you could be in my arms, safe is the moment that I've been waiting for when I first realized that there is a possibility that we could be more then friends?
Fine.
I love you, but I shouldn't
He willed himself to say it, but he couldn't. Please don't cry. And I beg that you are not upset with me, those words.... I know they are cold, but... he looked at the sky, a small frown on his face.
Why is it, that you rob me of everything? Of wit, reason, of caution... is it the everyday struggle for love that I must face? If so, I can only go so far.
I'm sorry. Please do not be discontent, after all... I want to at least see one familiar happy face when I see you at Peninsula College,' he murmured, offering a small smile. At the moment, he really would try to make her happy again.
